Youth League Information

What is the obbha youth league? Teams? Standings? Stats?

Greetings OBBHA members and friends!

With a mixture of excitement and positive memories of the
great games and wonderful people we have met….we are announcing that the OBBHA
will be bidding all of you a fond farewell.

John Struthers introduced the OBBHA to you in 2008 and after
all these years will continue his other work in the consulting business, but
will be doing that while enjoying travelling the world now that it has
reopened. Working and living from Grenada in the Winters, Europe exploration
and sailing in the French Polynesia are first on the agenda for 2022.

Trevor Polk will continue his amazing work at RSC and has
many options in front of him as a young professional.

Without going into
considerable detail about how incredibly satisfying the OBBHA experience has
been, we will focus on you the member and your immediate needs:

-we don’t have a recommendation for you to play ball hockey
during our usual time periods of Sept through April

(note that summer options at RSC are the same for women and
men, as is the Women’s Vanier league, but we hear that GOBHA has closed shop
for its men’s leagues)

-the OBBHA members owed money have two opportunities/dates
to meet up with John to obtain a cheque for games not played due to Covid shut-downs

Tuesday, June 28 7-9pm

Tuesday, July 12

Location is outside in the parking lot of Franco Cite near
the old OBBHA entrance….if it is pouring rain that day we will pick another
date! (Updates would be posted on
main page message area)

*Please note that we will not be doing e-transfers nor mail
outs due to cost and winding down rules for the OBBHA Inc accounting.

**Captains who paid for their teams will be issued one
cheque and will then dispense the portions owed to their team-mates, while
league built/organized teams will be paid to each individual who comes

***We thank those members who have chosen not to collect
their money owed and donate it to our cost of keeping the OBBHA entity afloat
during the pandemic (if you plan on doing that let John know prior to the two
meeting dates so it can be logged in…otherwise he will see you on one of those
two nights)

In closing, we wish all of you the best coming out of this
pandemic. Stay healthy and happy!

Your OBBHA Family

The best way to describe what we do is "structured shinny" . A typical session starts with a collective warm up and then we split the players and follow with many versions of full and modified games.
There is no league, set teams, no standings and no stats. We pride ourselves on our 4 F’s motto:

Thanks for sharing this with your friends as we grow and cultivate the ball hockey community!
